NORTH JAVA (FEBRUARY 15-19, 2010)

(WRITTEN BY SEAN) This was our first Safe Water System to Indonesia and another step in Heart Springs going to yet another third world country. Indonesia is so vast and there are so many needs there but the opportunity is great. We first traveled to North Java after arriving in Indonesia in mid February.   There we returned to the Christian Impact Center for Indonesians who desire to receive advanced training in Christian education.  In addition they are exposed to a number of practical skills that will help them provide for themselves and their families as they move out into communities across Indonesia to evangelize this Muslim nation.  Many will become church planters but not all.   Skills taught range from goat and fish farming to growing rice and other fruits and vegetables.   Our three team members brought a Safe Water System to the Impact Center to be used as a tool not only to provide clean water to the Impact Center including the goats they raise but also to add it to an array of tools that a church planter can use out in the field to open doors to sharing the love of Jesus. We were able to teach the instructors at the Impact Center on how to install and maintain the SWS so they could in turn teach others.   We also shared with them potential ways on how this tool has been used and could be used in Indonesia to open doors to sharing the love of Jesus.
